The Authority has started the process of drawing up the new Eryri Local Development Plan. The LDP identifies what can be built and where. It tackles the need and locations for housing, employment, community facilities, retail, open space and other land uses.
The new LDP will cover a period between 2026 and 2041. It will determine how we take future planning and development decisions in the National Park.
Review Report
Local Planning Authorities are required to review their LDP to ensure that LDPs and their supporting evidence base are kept up to date to provide a sound and effective basis for making planning decisions.
The first step was to prepare the Review Report which has been informed by stakeholder engagement, which took place between 7th April 2023 and May 12th 2023.

What happens now?
The next step is to prepare a Delivery Agreement. The Delivery Agreement is divided into two sections, namely:
1. Timetable of Key Steps for preparing the new LDP; and
2. A Community Involvement Plan that sets out how and when the stakeholders and community can contribute during the process of preparing the Plan.
The Delivery Agreement is subject to public consultation between the 16th of May 2025 and 27th June 2025.
You can have your say on the Delivery Agreement by either:
– Completing the Online Questionnaire
– Emailing your representations to Polisi.Cynllunio@eryri.llyw.cymru
– Completing a paper questionnaire available from the Authority’s Headquarters at Penrhyndeudraeth or from the Authority’s Information Centres at Betws y Coed, Beddgelert and Aberdyfi and post to:

What happens after the public consultation?
Following receipt of your comments on the Delivery Agreement, a report will be presented to the Authority and for members’ consideration and final decision on the contents of the Delivery Agreement.
If the Authority approve the Delivery Agreement, it will be sent to the Welsh Government for their approval.
